Sarah Gardam holds a Ph.D. in English with a concentration in women's and gender studies. For many years, Sarah taught English and interdisciplinary courses at various colleges on the East Coast. She now lives in Washington State and works as a freelance writer for nonprofit organizations and for HigherEducation.com.
